Conspiring Nations

Psalm 2:1-2 says:

Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against His anointed one.

At this present time, I believe that this is happening around us. Somewhere nuclear weapons are being built; a group of people wrecking havoc everywhere; God’s people are being attacked.

But verses 4-5 says:

The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. Then He rebukes them in His anger and terrifies them in His wrath …

Truly the Lord sees what is happening and He is in control. May He continue to protect us and give us hope. But we must not also forget that things are happening because they are bound to happen. It is already written and God’s Word will be fulfilled.

How Evil Can Be Working In Our Life

Evil is a spiritual power – the powers of this dark world & the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12).

It started when the highest of all angels was cast from heaven “because of pride that originated from his desire to be God instead of a servant of God. He desired to be God & rule the universe.” (AllAboutGOD.com) So he was cast out of heaven as a fallen angel. We know him by the name of Satan.

He was also called the dragon in the book of revelations. “When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, … then the dragon was enraged at the woman ¬†& went off to make war against the rest of her offspring – those who obey God’s commandments & hold to the testimony of Jesus.” (Revelations 12:13, 17)

So if you are a follower of Jesus, expect that the devil (which he is also called) will be working in your life. Some of his works might be:

1. Make you doubt about God & His word

He will be the voice behind your head that will ask you about what God really said and if you play with it in your head, little by little you will find that the deception will be the truth.

2. He will tempt you to misuse authority or power

“Then Jesus came to them and said ‘All authority in heaven & on earth has been given to me.'” So when we are in authority or power, we have to remember that it was just entrusted to us. But sometimes we get high because of success, when we know that people look up to us or if there are many blessings given us.

3. He wants us to hate God or turn our back to Him

Sometimes he also tests us somehow, inflicting pain or diseases and giving bad situations like what he did with Job. But we must remember that it did not happen without God’s knowledge. Satan’s purpose is for Job to curse God, but in the end the Lord made him prosperous again.

It might be truly difficult to really follow God, but it will not be wise also to side with evil because in the end, there will be punishment.

Restoration

In definition by Google, means the return of a hereditary monarch to a throne, a head of state to government or a regime to power.

In my case, it is simply, to return – to return to duty after one school year of leave of absence without pay.

I never thought that it is what I have to do. I have always believed that it was really clear to me – resignation & start a business.

Well, I was told that I missed some instructions from God. None of the business I tried to start succeeded. I thought it is because God was testing me since I read about having to step out of faith which I believed was the word for me when I was continuously praying about the step I had taken. That it is going to be difficult & a time of testing if I will continue to trust God. Then I have read about James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish it’s work so that you may be mature & complete, not lacking anything”.

Everything was positive. I would always read about something encouraging from the Bible & other devotional materials. I also thank God for sustaining me the whole year.

On the month of February, I started praying again asking God for confirmation. I thought I received it but another member in my small group said otherwise so I prayed again. Then I read about Jesus’ reinstatement of Peter. I believe that’s it. So on first Tuesday of March I went to school & talk with my Principal. I worked on the papers I needed, asking God at the same time to change my heart because I really wanted to do something else already but then, teaching is a gift. Maybe God wanted me to use it to serve my purpose.
