How Evil Can Be Working In Our Life

Evil is a spiritual power – the powers of this dark world & the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12).

It started when the highest of all angels was cast from heaven “because of pride that originated from his desire to be God instead of a servant of God. He desired to be God & rule the universe.” (AllAboutGOD.com) So he was cast out of heaven as a fallen angel. We know him by the name of Satan.

He was also called the dragon in the book of revelations. “When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, … then the dragon was enraged at the woman  & went off to make war against the rest of her offspring – those who obey God’s commandments & hold to the testimony of Jesus.” (Revelations 12:13, 17)

So if you are a follower of Jesus, expect that the devil (which he is also called) will be working in your life. Some of his works might be:

1. Make you doubt about God & His word

He will be the voice behind your head that will ask you about what God really said and if you play with it in your head, little by little you will find that the deception will be the truth.

2. He will tempt you to misuse authority or power

“Then Jesus came to them and said ‘All authority in heaven & on earth has been given to me.'” So when we are in authority or power, we have to remember that it was just entrusted to us. But sometimes we get high because of success, when we know that people look up to us or if there are many blessings given us.

3. He wants us to hate God or turn our back to Him

Sometimes he also tests us somehow, inflicting pain or diseases and giving bad situations like what he did with Job. But we must remember that it did not happen without God’s knowledge. Satan’s purpose is for Job to curse God, but in the end the Lord made him prosperous again.

It might be truly difficult to really follow God, but it will not be wise also to side with evil because in the end, there will be punishment.
